Wonder what this cold weather has done to the critters especially the ticks and mosquitoes. Did not quite freeze at LA but did in the western Rio Grande Valley
I hunted lower Rio Grande last week. Lanwr and there ain’t but like 45-60 minutes away. First day was hit and muggy and bugs were out. After that cold front hit, not a single but was to be see or heard. Cold air knocked them out bigtime. The cold wind made the Nilgai stay in the brush. Hunting got a lil harder but was still fun.
The lil buck I shot didn’t have any ticks on it at all. I didn’t get any on myself either. Maybe they aren’t as bad as lanwr but I still took the same precautions as I did there.
Frosty on the ground this morning. All my spots set up, but can't hunt until tomorrow afternoon. Seen 6 deer and some geese. Orientation next at 3 pm. Good luck everyone. If anyone needs help the next few days, post it here. My service is spotty out there.
