Sitting in a new spot. The big five was here last night. You can see my blind over his back. It's not first point quality but these deer aren't first point smart.
I’ll keep it short and sweet. Heard a deer crunching corn but out of my view. Well, big boy clears the bushes with his head down. He’s about 3 steps from my big pile of hand corn. I get impatient and raise my bow before he is face down in the corn. He snaps right up and we have a stare down. My bow is up but not drawn. He’s got me pegged so I decide to draw. Surprisingly I get drawn, center him and release BUT he spins right as I release. I never found my arrow or any blood. He spun toward me and I’m afraid my arrow may have hit him right in the front of the far shoulder. We never found any blood and did a thorough grid search. Will search again tomorrow but not optimistic. Hoping it’s a minor wound and he heals up. I am drowning my sorrows right now because he was one of those bucks u hope u see at the Chap....

All I can say is when he cleared the brush, he was a no doubter. Didn’t have to worry about that 14” rule. Tall, wide and heavy. We had a camera over my bait pile but he spun short of getting in camera range. I was really hoping we had a pic of him.
