      Yeah I edited it. I didn’t realize it was mixed in. Probably good idea to separate, since so different. Is it as crowded up there? How’s the hunting over there?

        3 units had trucks parked at the gate. I have this unit all to myself. Hard to believe actually. 1st time I have ever hunted it opening weekend. I usually wait till the following Monday to start up here but just could not stay at home. Heard some shots on private land around me earlier. It is literally eat up with tracks and wallows where I am at. Hogs, large buck, doe, and coyote.

          I found a spot like that at LBJ only 150 yards from gate. Gonna wait for a weekday hunt :-)

            There is 5 of those trails out in front of me in 150 yards or less. Getting pounded by these littles dudes all day. They are in here tearing them up.

              Came back through LBJ today on the way back from Hagerman. My first time through on the opener of firearms, thought we would see a lot more orange. The horse riders outnumbered the hunters.

                Probably going to head back out on Monday. Not sure what I am going to use yet. My new scope for the slug gun won't be in until Thursday. Probably just going to use my waterfowl gun with some buck shot this week until I can get the scope mounted and sighted in. Any recommendations of buck shot or rifled slugs?

                              It says in the FAQs that buckshot is allowed for deer in the general forest lands. Have you seen a special order for LBJ saying it is prohibited?
