Originally posted by Ironman View PostI'd say tall crp is good for bedding, regardless what it's interspersed with.
I find that they like some form of structure or transition in the CRP type stuff. A fallen cedar tree, small patch of brush, small patch of saplings... bucks will typically bed with their backs to the cover, wind at their back, looking downwind.
Does bed more based on eyesight, since they typically have multiple deer bedding together. Bucks typically bed alone when hard antlered, so they set up with everything in their favor.

FYI, just saw this on FB LBJ Grasslands Hunters Group:
Hi everyone. I appreciate being added to the group.
I wanted to let everyone know that Trinity River Beagle club will be running an AKC Licensed Field Trial this weekend. The club has a permit for four pastures, but we plan to focus on pastures 49 and 71.
We anticipate around 60 dogs entered from Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, and Arkansas over Saturday and Sunday. We worked to avoid November and wanted to give you guys a heads up. We invite y’all to come out and watch the trial. We should be out in the field by 8:30 each morning.
Thank you.
