    Lost Bag on the Vine

Bonehead move on my part . I walked out this morning and laid my bag on the ground next to my truck. I put my bow to top of the bag. There was another guy there that I started to talk to. I think his name was Tim, IIRC. Well, I got done talking with him, picked up my bow, and put it away and drove off. I left the bag out there. This was at 10:00 AM this morning. I realized what I had done around 3:00 when I was at Lewisville for a duck hunt. No bag in the truck. I called Larry to head out there and check it out, but the bag was gone. THANKS FOR THE HELP, LARRY!!!!!! Wish it would have been there. Anyway, If anyone found a bag out there, or hears of one, perhaps you can send me a PM. Nothing really valuable in there, other than a rangefinder. Other than that, there was the bag itself, a couple calls, a rattlebag, a Thermocell, a headlamp, and the rope for my safety harness.

    Anyway... Hope it turns up!

    Jay

WOW... I've run into some really weird "stuff" out there in the last few years. I though for sure the bag was gone! God bless the good people in the world! Thank you, Ted!!!! I'm hoping to run into to you tonight.

Ted, I want that decal displayed proudly! Good to see you joining and posting. So was that you I walked up to yesterday while you were sitting in the tree? I felt horrible about that. It's Jay's fault for making me go out there to fetch his bag!

We've seen some pretty stupid things out at the Vine this season. I'm actually feeling quite fortunate to have harvested my buck out there with the way this season out there has gone.

Thermacell is worth WAY more than the MSRP, by the way!

Thanks! Ya know...the trick is "let the 8's walk" I used to stick everything that came by. At first my goal was to tag out! Then I talked to one of the old guys. He was a trad hunter and seemed to bring in big deer every year.
He said you have to be willin to let em grow up. Pass on a good buck to get a chance at a GREAT buck. Not all that you pass on will get big but he's sure not gonna grow if he's dead Also, and this is ABSOLUTELY TRUE. These big deer are SMART and they have other deer run interference!! My P&Y's were back in the pack and I had to beat 2-3 sets of eyes before they came into range. If you shoot...you'll never know what was coming up the trail.

BUT @ 23...have fun...hone your skills..get the shakes under control. WORST FEELING is not recovering a BIG animal because of a pulled shot. I lost one 3 years ago I still think about...Those are my BEST deer over 40 years of hunting...1 every 10 years isn't too sucessfull but they are 100 fair chase..public land..no bait..just me and him

THANKS FOR NOTICIN" My son is 23 and he's waiting on his 1st bow kill. He's a little picky for NOT having let an arrow fly...but I hope to post a pic this week of him and his 1st! He pulled on a 6 Saturday but wasn't sure he could execute the shot and had a doe w/fawns dead to rights and passed.

I didn't start bowhunting until way after 23!! I am SURE you'll top anything I got!
