I headed back to Louisiana for my tradition of hunting opening day with my uncle and cousins on public land. This guy gave me a perfect 30 yard quartering away shot while trotting through a bottom. It was my first kill with the new bow! Hope I can make it into the SAM and have some luck!

Still can't believe what happened today. We got this buck on camera between noon and 2pm so I decided I was going to do a looonnngggg sit today... around 10am I questioned my decision but decided to stick to the game plan. Around 1pm I see antlers making their way through the brush and after about 15 minutes he gave me a shot at about 25 yards. He ended up about 40 yards from the stand. This is my second year bow hunting and hunting the SHNF. I scouted a lot harder his year and changed my strategy.... I guess it worked out alright.
