No I don’t think so. There is roads all over the place and lots of sign that shows you where deer are traveling. Not to bad I didn’t do hardly any scouting this year due to work and went out yesterday and saw 4 deer.
I use a pop up blind get in there real early pop it up and give it plenty of time to settle down and this year is one buck and one doe all seasons long.

Awesome is it usually pretty packed being public? I'm from TN and usually go back there to hunt but possible this year. It gets crazy opening morning

Yeah probably opening day it will be pretty busy. It’s always pretty busy on weekends but during the week it’s not to bad. There is a lot of land out there so plenty of room.
It's strictly shotgun. Just FYI area 8 and 9 are walk in and bow only no shotguns in that area. The rest of the areas you can use shotgun and I believe it's slug only no buck shot

Appreciate it. Gonna get over there during the week so not as many people out hopefully.
Hello everybody I’m new to the site and I’m in need of some advice. I’m really thinking about going hunting the twin buttes and San Angelo state park. I have never hunted public land and I really don’t know which tactics to use, either spot and stalk or sit and wait wait. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!
IMO... best opinion is gonna be Sit and wait... spot and stalk whitetail just not gonna happen on TBR or SASP... this thread is pretty much dead... not gonna find too much help here...
Where does everyone shoot in San Angelo for practice? That lives in town of course. Outdoorsman has a great facility but only goes to 20yards. I need practice for the longer shots. Thanks in advance.
