You only need 4 wheels to get up on top....there are thousands of acres down low that do not require 4 wheels and have 30" aoudad.. misc. exotics and axis

Sorry thank you southsider! Must not have enough coffee in my veins yet and too many spreadsheets. To heck with work time to hunt!

Any other info southsider? Have you hunted out there before? Thanks for the help.

I've killed stuff since the bighorn, but I haven't gotten tired of seeing the bighorn avatar yet.

Used to bow hunt WT before the anthrax hit and the Aoudad overran the place...Back then the sheep where just a bonus...got my first one there and my bro..downed a 31"

Got a chance to go back with my son on a rifle hunt a couple years ago..sheep are close to ruining the place...probably the closest you can get to a dove hunt with a rifle.. we've made some good trips and he say's this was his favorite. Its up on my list also..

Light boots, magnum, and a rangefinder..time to get excited!!

Thanks for the info, southsider. Are there more aoudad or Corsican?

I've never seen a Corsican in the pastures and only 2 checked in at camp. Only axis I've seen where out on flats, west of the main road when you enter.

I would concentrate on a big aoudad....mid 30's is doable with a rifle..I've seen bigger

Good deal. I have no interest in shooting a farm animal.

Me and a friend hunted Devils River Del Norte in 2014. Awesome hunt. I killed a big mature ram and my buddy killed 2 decent rams. We hunted units 18 and 11. Seen a lot of aoudad and whitetail, did not see any axis. You can access these areas from two roads. The lower road or the upper. We tried both. We had better luck taking the longer drive to get to the mesa's rather then starting at the bottom of the canyons and working up in elevation. Bring a walking stick, backpack with water and snacks, and a long range rifle for sure. We stayed in the bunk house which was good and brought everything we needed. It's along way back to town!

If it was the ram in your avatar, that's a very nice one! Thanks.

Excited would be an understatement! My group is pump...new rifles being bought, brakes installed, long range scopes, binocs, shooting sticks, etc.

                                Thanks for the info.
