Huntsville State Park Squirrel Hunt

Anyone interested in getting a group together to do the annual squirrel hunt at Huntsville SP? It's free for APH holders.

I think it's 12/3 & 12/4 this year.

Can you only hunt 1 of the days? My vacation time is pretty darn tight nearing the end of the year. Sounds like a really fun hunt though.

That does sound fun, and perfect for my daughter. What firearms are allowed? Is it shotgun only like S'ville is or could she use her .22?

Its typically 2 days but only sunrise to noon each day. As far as I remember it is shotgun only and requires specific shot sizes. Can someone with the APH book find it and verify?

Do they let u hunt the whole park?
The camp sites are loaded with fat squirrels

LEGAL GAME • 2014-2015
Squirrels: Regular (daily) Permit: Only Dec. 3, 4, (Shooting hours
are one half hour before sunrise until noon). Use of dogs prohibited.

Means Restrictions: Shotguns with no larger than #4 lead shot are
the only legal means that may be used or possessed during these hunts.

Special Regulations: A regular permit (available at the
area) is required to participate in these hunts. The $20 Regular Permit
fee is waived for persons possessing an APH Permit. All fees waived
for minors accompanied by a permitted authorized supervising adult.
