    Question about drawn permit wording

Friend was drawn for a hunt, I went 0/11.
He had a question about the permit he won.
Could not find it in the FAQ online.

Is this a permit to ...
    1) hunt until you get 1 deer
    or
    2) a permit to hunt once for deer, max 1 deer.

The "may be used only once" is confusing me. Is it an 'entrance' permit or a 'take out a deer with you' permit

Category: USFS Antlerless Deer Permit - Adult
Area: Sam Houston National Forest WMA
    Accept By Date: 10/1/2014

•Your permit will be mailed to you and no further action on your part is required at this time.
•The permit is good for the entire General White-tailed Deer Season but may only be used once.
•It is not transferable and will be void if given to anyone else.
•It is only valid for the WMA portion of the national forest listed above.

That permit simply allows him to kill only one doe during the season. Just think of it as a doe tag. He can still hunt for a buck afterwards if he shoots a doe first.

If a person did not have that doe permit, they would only be allowed to shoot a buck.

question, I also received a doe tag for Alabama WMA, can I shoot a legal buck too (do I need $48 public land permit) or do I have to get drawn for buck on that property?

I will check tpwd as well to see what I can find
