Alabama Creek WMA drawing

I just received notification that I have been selected for a USFS antlerless permit for Alabama Creek WMA. I'm blessed beyond belief to have been drawn twice this year for 2 locations, plus received a permit for Grapevine deer hunting. I've gone years before were I had no permit and no private land to hunt at all. This year is going to be great and I hope to stuff my freezers full of venison and wild pork.

did anyone else here get drawn for Alabama creek?

I've never been there before so its time to start the Google earth scouting and internet thread combing.

I'm open to advice from those experienced in Alabama Creek, Grapevine, or Daughtrey.

Got my notification as well. Notification came it at 1:43 and it says I have to respond by 1 Oct...yes, today! I called the numbers and got no answer.

This is the first time I have been selected for anything...how do I accept the hunt?

You don't have to contact them. It says "no furthur action is required".

did not get one this year neither did my dad, had got tag every year for Alabama creek three years in a row my luck ran out

I got a tag myself. We saw lots of does last year but didn't have a tag. Put in for it and got it this year.

i didnt get drawn but one of the youth did in our little group the other youth 15 shot a doe out of my ground blind opening day. so far i cant complain have had deer at my set ups 2 out of the 5 hunts ive done and yesterday had a doe come charing into a can call. still not seeing alot of acorns then again im hunting west of 2262

So is this a place where you just go when and where you want during the general season? Is this only good for one doe? I normally hunt out of tree climbers, but also use ground blinds and tree hang ons so I can do any or whatever is required out there.

Drive is about 3 1/2 hrs from me so need to decide if it is only one doe, see if it is worth it.

Thanks topshot. No bueno. I couldn't get drawn if there were 300 applicants for 299 permits. There's always 2 bucks!!!!!
