Who will be camping at the primitive site on Daughtrey?

I will be at Choke Canyon State Park. Talked to the guy heading up the hunt yesterday and apparently some walk in/drive in areas will be available.

Good luck fella's, been there years ago on a doe and spike hunt. It's a good place and loaded with deer.

Fyi-I have no idea where the hunt is taking place but watch the weather and be careful that lake can get very rough in a blink of an eye.

I put in for it, didn't get drawn.

My son got drawn on a doe/spike hunt a few years ago.
It was a 2 day hunt, meaning an afternoon and the next morning.
We saw several deer and he filled his tags shooting a doe during each hunt.

I would think ya'll will see even more deer if the hunt areas are normally off limits to the public.

i wish i could make it down but my schedule won't permit it. hope the standby tag gets filled by someone who needs the meat.

Well the hunt was a BUST! Only half of the hunters drawn actually showed up and they didnt allow standbys. We got to choose our compartments but nobody killed a deer all week. For some reason they didnt allow driving in the areas so you could only walk in to set up and hunt and you had to shoot a doe before you could shoot a buck. I did put an arrow into the largest hog I have ever seen on Wednesday evening just after dark while walking back to my truck tho. Looked for him the next morning but no luck. Oh well, was still better than working and met a couple tbh'ers.
