That's awesome and should be a good hunt. I'll keep trying next year...

As stated, I'm excited about the upcoming hunt. I hope the weather cooperates and is not inclement to the point of causing the park service to cancel the hunt. I'm planning on staying in the park and truck camping... just keeping it simple and basic.

Also I hope to get in a few seasons of long range shooting, out to 500 yds or so, before doing the hunt. I want to be confident about "reaching out to touch one!"

Something I haven't seen mentioned. It will be bitter cold that time of year especially in the mornings. But dress in layers as it will warm up quite a bit once the sun comes up and try to avoid getting to sweaty as that will ruin your day once you find the spot you want to glass from.

I don't have anything to offer but I am super jealous. Just started applying two years ago so any updates will be welcome.

I would say its near imposible to hunt with a bow unless you are in a blind... I hunt there every year at my grandfathers ranch. since you only have a small window of opportunity I would use rifle like you said and try with bow for the second.

Bring some warm gear its bitter cold in Feb. hard to age/ score aoudad i shoot the biggest one in the bunch. Bring a camera as i take the same pictures of the canyon year to year and they never get old! Good luck on your hunt and enjoy one of god's most greatest/beautiful/amzing creations the PALODURO CANYON!
