Does anyone have a good website or know of any good public land to hunt in the Ft. Worth area? I would like to do some dove hunting with a friend from church and possible hog/deer hunts. Thanks for your help!

With your location as keller, the lbj grasslands aren't too far away, thats free public land. You can deer hunt with a shotgun there, and I'm sure you can dove hunt as well. If you get the annual public hunting permit with your license(48$) you can hunt lake ray roberts for dove and hog, there are several dove fields that tpwd leases and are public dove fields with that permit. Also lake whitney offers public hunting for deer, hog, and dove, although the deer and hog are archery only. Hope this helps

I hunt lake whitney mostly, its a little closer to me than the others. I have never been to lbj grasslands, but i was in the same spot you are a few years back, and I have though about hunting it several times, but I prefer bowhunting. I have duck hunted at lake ray roberts, seen plenty of dove and hog sign while i was there. I have not hunted any of the public dove fields, but I may this year, I would probably try to go during the week if possible to beat the crowds. I like hunting whitney mostly, seen deer there several times, I know there are hogs, but I have yet to see one personally
