    Dove Hunting WMA Lands

Hey folks, so I have been out trying to scout some of the WMA properties, namely one near Krum and several near Greenville. I follow the maps, and the maps show where parking is supposed to be, and where there is an information/registration stand. I have driven by three or four of these properties and seen no indication of them being public lands. I haven't seen the information stand or anything. Am I looking in the wrong places and just missing them, or are they simply not there? This is my first year trying to hunt some dove on the WMAs.

Might not be marked yet. I stopped by one this past weekend that I've hunted for years, and the registration board isn't up yet. I suspect this week or next, the TPWD staff will be getting those out there. They have a LOT of places to post and not enough folks to post them all.

If you see a TPWD staff person, be sure to thank them because this time of year, they are working very long hours without any time off.

Ok cool. I just didn't know if they left that stuff up year round or if they put it out. I certainly will thank them. I am excited and grateful that they provide that service for us.

Yea, me too. That $48 APH permit makes all those dove areas a real bargain, esp. since I'm going to buy one anyway for deer hunting on the WMA's.
