Information needed

I'm trying to under stand how these public hunts work .what do I need to hunt them be sides a hunting license? And can I go any time during open season to hunt?if any one can give me as much information as possible I would much appreciate it.also if there are some cheap leases out there I can get on.

hunting license, aph permit. enough orange and follow the laws/rules. ive spent a little time in national forest but not much. i will say its not like a lease ..my dad told me it seperated the men from the boys but theres also a bunvh of peope who have no idea what there doing out there...as a kid my dad only unted public land and i have some growing up...that being said i have a great lease but still purchased my aph this year and plan on getting a doe in the forest...i live close enough that i can hunt it after work on my early days off even if it takes me all season (if i get the tag) if not ill still try for a buck if i dont have something by rifle season...ive scouted twice so far this year and im way behind the curve.. plan on getting out there atleast 2 more times before bow season. i also plan on only hunting during the week and will prob stay in bow only eareas once rifle opens up due to personal concerns that may or may not be true.
