So far I've seen 4 doe but all out of bow range. Rain/drizzle finally stopped, just windy now


Edit: a 5th doe almost offered a shot but never cleared the brush. Talk about buck (doe) fever. She could've been my first bow kill.

Lost a buck out there this am. Hit it quartering away and never found any blood. Had a doe hit the deck on a 30 yard shot. Also had four other does within 30 yds but no good shot and one fawn at 15 but I couldn't bring myself to shoot it.

Had a yearling spike at 7 yrds for 20 minutes then doe with fawn at 5 yrds

Seen 11 deer so far, shot one, couldn't find it. I stalked 100 yards into prairie and got within 5 yards of the fawn in the picture, but let it go.

Well I took a shot at my first animal today. It was at a running nilgai that already had an arrow in her.

A buddy had just shot her coming right at him, without me knowing I heard hooves pounding the ground headed right in my direction. I drew with a mesquite in between me and the nilgai and waited for her to clear the mesquite and squeezed one off.

Well I never saw my arrows flight but did notice another arrow hanging off of her. We tried tracking her but only saw about 3 drops of blood & lost her tracks in the thick brush she ran into. Most of the arrow was sticking out of her. We figured he hit bone & had minimal penetration.

Back at it in the morning!

Heard a nine point shot today. Friend of mine's son saw three bucks two does today all out of range, but he hit a pig late. They lost the blood trail, but found the broken arrow. No broad head. Good luck to all tomorrow.

I don't believe many animals were taken, not sure on exact numbers but only a few deer and mainly hogs. Numbers were very low. I was able to get on "chalkboard" with a small hog. :-)

Talked with f&w officer friday and he said couple deer and someone bounced arrow off a nilgai
