Anyone hunted Daughtry recently?

I got lucky an was selected for Daughtry archery hunt in Dec. I read all the old posts, but I haven't seen any from the last 2 years. Anyone hunted there recently? And how was the hunting?

I hunted hogs earlier this year there. Few deer here and there. Really depends on the weather and where you get assigned. I like the area across the street from the check station. Rut is over now so you don't have to take that into account in Dec for sure.

Don't count the rut over in South Texas yet, there will be a rut come December in South Texas, Daughtrey included.

I grew up in Poteet TX which is about an hour away from choke canyon. There are 3 ruts historically in that area. One around the end of October, one around thanksgiving and one around the Christmas time frame.
