can you hog hunt "draw" units...

.....without being drawn? I assume not when they have drawn deer hunts going on but what about when they don't? Looked on tpwd website and found no answer.

It will depend upon the Units located within the Annual Public Hunting Permit (APH) Map Booklet on those that allow feral hogs to be hunted.

Here is the current list of all APH Units that allow feral hogs - check each Unit to find out when they may be hunted and by which legal means. All will be listed within the Legal Game Box for each Unit.

Requires the APH, $48 permit in addition to a valid hunting license

Please check each Unit for Legal species, seasons, legal means & methods that may be used. Not all species may be taken on all units. Refer to the Legal Game legends on individual unit maps to determine which species may be taken on each unit. If a species or season is not listed in the Legal Game box, there is no hunting allowed for that species or by that particular means on the unit. Example, if under deer there is only an archery season listed, then there is no gun hunting allowed for deer on that area.

The areas are closed during draw hunts. The map booklet will have seasons and restrictions.

The few that I have been to do not allow access to anyone without the drawn hunt permit.
I would advise you to call the one you're interested in to make sure.

If you're drawn for a deer hunt, most will allow you to kill a hog also.

If you are asking about hunting hogs while a draw hunt is going on the answer is no.

The only people allowed on the areas during the draw hunts are the ones who drew a permit, everyone else has to stay out.

If you get drawn they usually encourage hog harvest in the orientation before the hunt.

No i would not have thought that i could hog hunt while others are drawn hunting. Only looking at other times. I guess i will just buy the permit and get the book and make some calls.

I would just wait until deer season is over with to keep from the possiblity of ruining someone else's hunt.
