    Hog hunting at Lake Texoma

I am interested in hog hunting at Lake Texoma, but I'm having a hard time finding any real information on the subject.

I found this map of the hunting areas:

I also found this page with restrictions:

What worries me is that the restrictions page only mentions Oklahoma sportsmen. If I'm hunting on the Texas side, what do I need to be legal?

For instance, is there a permit required, like there is for Lavon? Do they require hunter safety orange when hunting hogs? Are there any rules forbidding baiting for hogs?

I have a buddy coming into town this weekend and if we can't find any doves with all the rain and cooler weather, I was thinking about heading up to Texoma with our shotguns loaded with buckshot to see if we could find some hogs. (My buddy isn't a bow-hunter, so we're going to use shotguns instead of taking my bow.)

Any tips or advice from anyone that has ever hunted at Texoma would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Mojo, there isn't a lot of information available for Texoma. I'd suggest calling the COE office. The map doesn't help much, the website didn't either.

I heard from an acquaintance on Facebook (that has killed several hogs out there) that you don't need a permit and that baiting is fine.

I may call the COE office tomorrow, if anyone is there, just to make sure.

As I recall, no permit, and I've heard it can get crowded. Stay in Grayson County if at all possible, archery only for deer.
