    Preference Point question...

Ok, I basically know how pps work. You get one entry into the "hat" +1 for each pp.

From what I understand, if you sign up with someone else on your card, they average your pps together..

My question is, do they average up or down? If I have 1 point, and my buddy on my card has 0, would they add 1 or 0?

    Thanks!

I may be wrong, but from what I've been told, if your buddy has 0, then you would have 0 as well regardless of how many you had before. They go to the person with the lowest pp standing. I asked this very question on the phone last year. I started with a group of 4 and one dropped out. So I asked what our status would be if I brought someone new in with 0 points. So we are now a group of 3, unless we find someone else that has the same number of pp as we do.

I was told the exact opposite on the phone. I was told they take all points as a group averages them out and each person is in the drawing with that average just saying 3 guys have 5 points each the 4rth guy is new that application with 0 would be 19 points divided on 4.74 so each guy would have 4 chances. But if the group splits up the points follow each individual hunter. That’s the way the person explained it to me on the phone....

Where is GL when we need him..

I'm sure I have read in past booklets where they say they group av. down to the nearest whole point.Ex. 3 guys- with 20 pts, 11 pts and 0 pts. 31 divided by 3 is 10 1/3 so group av down is 10.

other states differ, I think Colorado takes the pref. point total of the lowest man in the group so above ex. group score would be 0.
