"Official" Sam Houston National Forest 12-13

How about the "A" word, there wasn't even any activity this weekend. Heard 3 total rifle shots all day yesterday....both norskman and i logged 12 hours in the stand and never saw a deer

Them deer ain't stupid, they know what time it is. I've pretty much lost that anxiety feeling of trying to get a doe down during bow season, now that we're down to using the doe permit and one buck tag, I feel like I have enough time to give it a short break and wait for that "A" and "R" to kick into high gear. And I definitely don't mind waiting on cooler temps again!

Ok guys I got this losing deer thing figured out. Shoot one and can't find it, back out and leave all hunting gear at truck, take blood dog on leash and go hiking in the general area of where your hunting lol then when you just happen to find your deer, gps it and take dog back to truck. Then grab hunting gear and go search for your deer again. Doesn't say you can't go hiking with your dog in the woods lol
