    Youth Hog Hunt Feb 1st

**Yes it is Justin Hurst WMA--I guess that would really help wouldn't it!***

Anybody else going on this one? My son got drawn for it. We went 2 years ago in October for the deer hunt. It was a drought year and everything was dry, I am guessing it wont be that way this time!!

If you're talking about the APH hunt at Nannie it's been dry, but the past couple weeks we have had some rain and supposed to get a good soaking this afternoon. I walked the Refuge last week and it was still dry.

I'm assuming he's talking Justin HURST WMA.

But, what static said would be true there as well. They very close to each other.

A couple big boys my son shot from the last years deer hunt and the late hog hunt at Justin Hurst WMA.
Probably be wet but still prenty of time to dry out.
I like the pipeline easements if your kid can shoot a decent distance.

What kind of distance are you talking about? We didn't get on a pipeline when we went for the deer hunt

Those are some Studs! Wish we were available that weekend. I'd take one of my kiddos for standby.

Not to hijack the op thread but I have a question.

I know it says ATV's recommended. If I don't have one is it worth even applying? Will they transport you if you don't have one?

Yes there was several that did not have atv/utv this past weekend. Most drug them back to the truck, but they can come help if they are not busy.

Well give ya'll a little update.

My son ended up shooting a 115 sow Saturday afternoon. We just saw cows and deer the rest of the time. We had a good time!!

If you have an opportunity Trey runs a top notch system down there and is very friendly and knowledgeable! Click image for larger version

Looks like you had a fun hunt. Nothing better than making memories with the kiddos!!!!! My best memories of hunting are with my kids.

Some big ones were killed on the general hunt this week; 4+ boars around the 200 lbs mark that I knew of. I managed a 100lb sow and 2 piglets the first afternoon but otherwise just saw a bunch of deer. Neat WMA and top notch staff. A utv isn’t necessary if you have a sled or game cart, or otherwise don’t mind dragging a pig a couple hundred yards to the truck. Staff were eager to help retrieve with their 1 utv as they were able.
