    E Draw Question

We have done the regular draws and participated in them in the past with decent success but have never done the E-draws. Is the longer access worth it for these areas, most of them are 3 plus hours away and was wondering if you guys have had good experiences with being able to hunt multiple trips. We have a small private least in East Texas but was looking for some additional options to be able to go and camp for a few days and hunt.

If you're talking about the E-Postcard hunts, then yes you should go. The odds of getting drawn are very low. Thousands of people apply with only a few permits being drawn. They don't go on the loyalty points system, so everyone is even. Plus, it obviously depends on how much scouting and effort you put in the hunt to be successful.

I enjoyed the E-postcard hunt I went on. Most people hunted the first 2 days, some came back the next weekend. It was primitive camping set up, but you could park near your site. I remember the odds were low for success. I was able to spot and stalk a few sounders of hogs.

It looks like there's quite a few hunts missing from Ecard that use to be there?

The few I looked at required the purchase of an APH prior to applying. Seeing I wouldn’t use the permit otherwise, I passed.

The ones I was interested in with extended dates said they allow feeders and such, seems like it could get weird and territorial pretty quick. Public hunting has enough competition without getting into a "this is my spot" pissing match.

Lol, you should get into public duck hunting.

Yeah I don't hunt the bays much anymore because of the rats out there, never tried the lakes and such as I'm sure it's even worse. I don't mind competition, but if I win and I'm setup already and somebody comes and sits on top of me that's annoying. Oddly enough it always seems to be these "drop off guides" who take a fee to just drop people off. You'd think the clients wouldn't enjoy paying to get dropped off on top of people but I guess they don't know any better.

I drew the E Post Card BLB archery in 2022 and Keechi Creek rifle last year. Both hunts were definitely worth the drive even though I didn’t tag out.

I feel the E-postcard hunts are not that great of hunts compared to the regular hunts. Just based on my experience with them both.
