    Moore Plantation

So we lost the lease. My 15 year old daughter and I will be hunting the Moore next year. We are hoping for a doe tag for her. We have a place in Sandy Creek. Just wanted to see who all hunts the Moore.

I started hunting the Moore this past season and will be back out there this season.

Great! Do you know the area? I hunted there for 8 years before getting on my lease.

I've lived in Jasper my entire life and never really thought about hunting up there before. I always hunted the down the Neches and Angelina rivers or the Angelina NF. I drew a doe tag for Moore last year so that's what prompted me to go look at it and I'm glad I did. I didn't fill the tag but not for a lack of trying, the stars just didn't align right I guess. Saw a ton of deer in the area, a few hogs and turkey. I didn't venture around the WMA too much and hunted the south end off 201 and 114.

I am going to give it a shot. If for no other reason to learn the area and enjoy the scenery around my new home.

We did not get pulled for a doe tag this year. Good luck to those who did. Plenty of does at the Moore.

I didn't either but my 2 daughters did. Hopefully they get their chance this season.

I've never hunted public land, but didn't draw my kansas tag this year. Spent a day in the moore about 2 weeks ago and put 12 miles in. Found some promising stuff, and some not so promising. Looks like it will be my primary hunting property this year. I've got to say I'm more excited about it that most leases I've been on.

There is some great areas on the Moore. I would agree better than most leases and the good part is after the first 2weeks the traffic slows. Pm sent

I can't find 114 on the map, but i can't be terribly far from there. Close enough to help if someone was in a bind, but not close enough to effect someone's hunt over there.

I have 3 places I like to hunt. One off 114, another by the rice fields and another north of 2343

114 is a few miles down 201 on the north side.
