I will be trying the Angelina this year. Found some nice areas with white oak acorns hitting the ground.

If those areas are any where near Parker Point road be prepared to contend with a group of 15+ people doing deer drives. They had Parker Point wrapped up 2 years ago while I was out there. Not sure if they were back at it last season as I skipped hunting the Angelina and focused on the Moore.

Have a camp off of 147, I have 8-10 areas in Angelina and 6-8 in San Augustine county.

I will say that was opening weekend of gun season. There's virtually nobody out there during bow season. I like to hunt the forestry land behind the dam during bow season. Missed a very nice buck back there a few years ago.

Do you have to get drawn to shoot does? My house is in Rayburn Country so it would not take me long to get to some of the Angelina areas.

You can shoot does in archery, I’m not familiar with a way to obtain for tags otherwise of the national forests. You can get drawn for the WMAs

Going to try to make my first sit at the Moore this weekend. Going in pretty much blind as I haven't done any scouting up there this year. I'll be at the same spot I hunted last season and there was a good buck in there. Hopefully he's made it this far and I get a chance at him again this year.

Yessir down in Angelina, be sure to do the on site registration through the app at Moore. Wardens have been pushing it this season, we lost 2000 acres because not enough people registered to justify renewing the lease
