Sent them my $200, 39 preference points. G d e. Plus the 10years before they started counting preference points. I think I even have youth points I been putting in so long. We need a senior division. .

Sure hope you’re not disappointed after 39 years.

My son and I usually enter a few every year together. He enters a few on his own. He has been drawn on a few, so he brings our average down when we apply together. Since I lost my lease I had been on for 28 years this year, we entered 15 total. Hoping for a place for some freezer filler.

I’ve heard quite a few high preference points holders have revoked their Chap applications this year, that place is in a bad way right now.

Same sentiments and also will not be applying for Chap. We saw last years and the previous years results. I'm not impressed. Most of those bucks harvested are considered culls by any high fence property in that ecoregion. Not to say there isn't going to be a good one taken, it is 15,000 acres. I'm just not very enthusiastic about putting my points there, so I won't.

Brokeno its not too late to cancel that. I'd hate to say, "I told ya" so in December.

Makes me glad I don’t have have hardly any preference points built up in the category’s for chap. I likely won’t draw, but if I did and it was a disappointing hunt I’m not really out much and atleast I got to the place.

I've got 18 points I think. This year I don't think I'll put in for Chap. Maybe just Powderhorn/Kerr. Will go down for standby though...iff'n they have standby this year.

                      Smart move.

Don't count on standby. They cut the number of permits for a reason and I doubt that reason is going to change between now and the hunt dates. If any standby, it'll be "ONLY ONE CARD", and I doubt that they even have it, regardless of how many drawn permitted hunters attend. I.E: IF No drawn hunters attend, still one card for standby. Unfilled available permits omitted from the public opportunity. Seen it happen more than once! Heck I'm still wondering if it it even is worth a shot if being selected on standby- guess I'll see how busy and or desperate I am to hunt.

i agree with mr. public, there are a couple other spots i would be looking at for sure. i called them and canceled my entry to garner several years ago after reading recent (at the time) reviews on here and another site.

i would hate to see 39pts get put in some soup lol

Oh, I'm not counting on standby. If they have a standby spot, I'll probably go down there. If not, oh well.

Yeah. If I do get drawn I probably wasted my 39 ppt on the chap but who knows if I’ll even be around for 40. I thought about putting in for another Gde but figured why change now even though chap ain’t what it use to be. The poor drought conditions and the over harvest of non mature deer. I wish they would put a trophy fee there if you killed a buck a $500 fee would be charged.

As a senior, a hunter's time keeps running through the hourglass. For the once in a lifetime draws, if you put them off too long, you might not be able to go when your number is finally drawn. Droughts can last a long time. Just go and enjoy the journey. I have 13 points in another category, but I am applying despite the drought.
