2023/24 TP&W Draw Hunts

Refresh my memory a Group/Permit is 1ea permit per group and a group can be 1, 2 or 3 hunters? Is this correct?

Before the revamp of the site, there was someone on the old thread that alleged big changes coming to the draw hunts this year.

I'm not seeing any changes.

Anyone else notice any changes?

TPWD is busy with the Fairfield fiasco... or they're just lazy bums as usual. But yes I've heard through the grapevine there was supposedly big changes, that's the reason I thought they send out the draw applicant satisfaction survey back in the Spring asking for suggestions on changes to the draw hunts.

No it was a tpwd employee, from the way they talked the department is an absolute sh*t show right now.

Hopefully get drawn this year. I have been putting in for the last 15 years and only drew once. Exotic hunt at Devils River. And i put in for at least 20 different hunts each year. While on the hunt some folks were there from Oklahoma and they say they draw almost every year. Go Figure

I wouldn’t say note worthy but I’ve noticed a couple of the hunts are slightly later in the season. Roger fawcett wma is up this year and I don’t think it was last year. Some hunts in powderhorn are split between wma and state park. Kerr isn’t a general deer either sex this year.

That was Mr. Public - He wouldn't say what the changes were though.

I'll put in for my normal hunts. 3 more years and I can put my grandson in for youth hunts.

Some areas have less permits or hunts, but nothing major. I'm sure I'll send in over 100 applications by the last deadline.
