Update on my son - we have a future dcnf hunter born @ 7:59 am this morning "Jaron".

Healthy as can be, 7lbs and 5oz =D.

I planted 6 different acorns this morning to grow with him and I plan to plant them as saplings for his future deer to munch on. I'm already jealous of what plans i have for him hunting!!

Any updates from you guys? Luck hopefully =)

dcnfhunter - That's a beautiful buck, great job! I hunt in the Sam Houston National Forest most of the time, but I have friends that live in Groveton and I hunt in the Davy Crockett some times as well. Looks like it's time for a road trip! Congrats!!!

I was out there this weekend with my sone and brother-in-law. I've never seen it real crowded in the area that i hunt, but we did see a few other trucks.

Nice looking bucks Can't say i've hunted up there since 1990 after someone drove down the road and shot into the deer camp packed up and left that night and haven't been back. Idiots were a dime a dozen back then!

Road Buck

Well I got me a buck..... 7 point.. Game warden gave it too me. It was Hit here in town and the folks did not want it. Here are a couple pics.. . His front and back legs were busted but otherwise he was in real good shape.. got my slip of paper from the GW and off to the processor I went.

Depends on where you hunt.. have only seen 5 other vehicles on the road I hunt off of since the start of season.
