    What are they thinking?

I am all for waging war on the hog population but do they have to have a gun hog season on my local WMA running the same time as archery season???

I guess for $48 you get what you get

Glad you said something, I was seriously thinking about spending my $48. Not now.

They allow gun hunting all year for hogs where I hunt. I have yet to see anyone while in the woods. I am still spending my $48 for access to more land than I can hunt in a year. Maybe on this larger piece I am on it doesn't matter as much, as if I was on a smaller piece. Good luck either way.

It might not be that bad and I already have mine so you might as well get yours
Plus there are alot more places pretty close that are not the same seasons

          Yep

They used to have it split up, squirrel hunters got a few weeks and then the bow hunters got it for a few

Wonder who decided what seasons and wha got hunted on a particular WMA?
I looked at several of the other ones in my area and they do not have the same season dates

Wait til right after you pay the $48 and then they close the WMA you hunt to do a heli shoot....right after you scout and feed the suckers LOL..

They will never get another $49 from me.

If I am not mistaken the biologist that is over the place has alot to do with the dates and everything. I am not impressed by the biologist out at the type 2. I have heard and seen him do some pretty shady stuff. I am sure he is a great guy, but I would want someone a little more professional.

I talked to the biologist last year but I have not heard much about him. Do you care to elaborate on the "shady stuff"? PM me if you like but I would sure like a heads up on anything on that place like that

I hunt the Sam Houston NF, I have hunted it for two decades. It has been a WMA since 96' or 97'. My buddy and I have Hunted though prescribed burns, logging, squirrel hunters and many peolpe walking around during Hunting season. But that want stop us! We will pay the 48$ again this year, In fact I'm purchasing the APH next week.
