    Boerne??

So I posted the Fair Oaks Ranch thread. To update I am looking to move to Boerne with my family in the future and hoping that there is some public hunting with in short distance. Not looking for any ones honey hole, just looking for a place me and my kids can go. Any help would be appreciated.

I live in San Antonio and am not aware of any public land in that area but maybe others will chime in with some help. The area has tons of deer but not much as far as trophys. There are quit a few day hunt operations in the area for exotics and some are pretty reasonable and last time I looked leases were still somewhat inexpensive compared to most of Texas. Good luck and I think you will really like living in Boerne.

I'm not aware of any public close to SA either, but that's a good neighborhood to see deer.

There are draw hunts at Guadalupe State Park every year. Thats just a few miles down the road. If you don't get drawn, try for the standby positions. On the archery hunts, most of the standbys get picked.

Good luck in your search. I'm not aware of any public areas, but didn't know there was an opportunity at Guadalupe River State Park either. Deer population in FOR is varied, but you'll get the opportunity to see some beautiful protected deer.

Granger WMA East of Georgetown has hog hunting year round with archery gear. Also draw hunts for deer. There are some huge bucks runing there. Tough hunting though.
