pretty sure there are public hunting opportunities in San Angelo. Welcome to the world of frustration and sleepless nights!

Welcome to the fire, and like said above i believe there are some public hunting land areas around San Angelo.

i read online about public hunting. I think we are going to check that out too. Can you tell me how that works. Like I said - new to this. I remember my dad taking me hunting when I was little but we hunted on my grandma's place in Kansas. That is too far to drive these days.

Welcome Corleys! There is hunting all around San Angelo State park and twin buttes reservoir. Glad to hear yall are getting back into hunting. You have to start somewhere. I don't know of any clubs, but I bet there is one or two in the permian basin. There is an archery club in Abilene that has a great 3D setup for like $75 a year for a family. There were some guys at Midland shooters association (the big gun range) starting a 3D range out there a couple of years ago, but I don't know if they still do. Check out TPWD site and click on find a place to hunt, there are countless places across the state to hunt, just by the type 2 license.
