If you bought the type II license to hunt White Oak, TWPD sent you the booklet of available WMA's.
There are several in the east Texas area that have good deer populations.
Or do some research online by going to the TWPD website.

If you're not seeing deer at WOC,you wont see deer at any of the other WMA's in n.e.Texas either. I've hunted all of them and the deer population at WOC is just as good as Pat Mayse,Cooper,OSB,etc. By the way, that entire map/AHP book is online at TPWD's website.

Cant tell you much about Whitney or Somerville,I mostly just hunt the WMA's in n.e.Texas. There's threads on here with lots of info about those two places though. I'm a little suprised you're not seeing deer at WOC,I've seen deer just about every time I've hunted there.

well last year the river got almost got record high and what I. Was told by some locals it pushed a lot of deer out my buddys wife family owns 5000 acres and about a 1000 of it is located around woc and they lease it out and one hunter on the lease said last year they all killed good deer because of the river being so high I could go to the north end by i30 where they say the better hunting is but don't no to much about that end. if you would be willing to share any info on the areas u hunting it would be appreciated and ill plan a trip to hunt it. I've only hunted the far east end cause its only 15 miles from the house all the other areas are around 30 thanks again? Dj

Alazan WMA is also pretty good and is not to pressured. There is a map on the thread "mapping texas public lands" I made of it and you can PM your e-mail and I can send you a better copy of it if you are interested in hunting it.

Actually I've done best in the southern and eastern compartments myself. There's some good spots across the RR tracks on the east end, north and south of the river. It's like any other place though, you just have to put in the legwork and scouting to find the best spots in the woods.

White Oak Creek gets virtually no pressure compared to most of the other areas and has some bruisers on it. If I lived closer I'd be hunting it all the time!

No I haven't been there in 2 or 3 years. It's a fairly long drive from Fort Worth,I wish I lived closer.I did the rifle draw hunts about 8 or 9 years in a row and a few bowhunting trips mixed in.
