I have never hunted Nails but I fish there every spring and I usually see several deer on my walk in or out. There's PLENTY of hogs in that creek bottom as well.

I don't think they'll let you use the stick & string but it looks like rifles are allowed at Nails. Don't quote me on that though.Comment

the hunts we are talking about here actually are conducted within the state park. one guy i talked to last time i was there said he shot a deer from a picnic table in a campsite. the hunts are on either nails or birch creek but not both at the same time so hunters and regular campers are directed to camp at the park that is not being hunted.
this is different then the Sommerville WMA which you can hunt all season and you do not have to be drawn or go standby forComment

5 standbys showed up for todays hunt..only two got to hunt. i had to leave after orientation because of work but will hunt all day tomorrow. will try to get back on and post results of both days tomorrow eveningComment

well 11 hunters went out last night and shot 3 doe.
This morning 12 of us went out and shot seven, 2 of us (me included) shot 2. Although you are allowed to take 3, i quit as i already had one in the freezer. So that ends the Birch Creek updatesComment
