not really. Opening weekend will be busiest but its a big area and there are plenty of places to hunt. Get a good map. Most people hunt the Mcbride ans Alibates area, but don't overlook the other side of the lake.

Was out there sunday as well, saw three mule deer but no antlers........did see two whitetails- one doe and one buck just off the Lake property. Saw some guys in an old toyota doing some speed glassing........and then a newer model white van pulled up and a woman got out, probably early twenties and she squatted right in the road to pee.
Someone should tell her that hunters carry bino's out there.......
Headed back out this weekend, will stay in my fifth wheel out there on the north side, haven't decided where yet.
Anybody else "see" anything out there?

Will probably camp at Plum Creek this weekend. Maybe check out Devils Canyon and that area.

We did see one doe at night near the campground area at the trailhead for Devil's Canyon....looking like we need some colder weather to get the deer down into the canyons.
Good luck to anyone headed out there, I am finding a lot less deer out there compared to the same time last year. Yesterday it was showing 88 degrees in camp.....way to hot!

I have stayed away from those areas, there may be some good hunting up there but I haven't even been up there since last year when I drove around the Lake.
It seemed like Bugbee didn't hold deer and wasn't very big.....did try some quail hunting there last year and it was a bust.
