Somerville 10/11

I don't plan on scouting too much before season starts. I will hit the same spots I hit last year. I just need to keep practicing at 40 yards. I know that there are a few that go to sommerville. Last time I was out I was white bass fishing. Anyone else headed out there?

Not many pigs there. After season you can bait for them.

I plan on going out there second weekend. Last yr opening season was crowded where I was. Its probably going to be the same. But I m gonna try my luck. The first yr I started going out there I saw hogs well 3 of them and since all I find now is signs of them. I think they go in there at night. But you never know.

Howdy Guys, new on here. Live in southern College Station and planned on hunting Somerville WMA this yr for the first time. Is there anything I should expect? Crowds? Hunted public land in OKLA (Hickory Creek WMA) and very seldon did we have people come across us. Headed to Somerville WMA tomorrow for the first scouting trip. I think Im going there right at CR 124 I think it is? There at Irwin Bridge. Any help yall could pass on is very, very much appreciated and hope to meet some of yall!

I have killed a couple hogs out there. It is covered up with hogs.

I haven't killed any out there but I have come across MANY hogs when I've been back near Irwin Bridge fishing in the past.

I am from the San Antonio area and its about the closest option as far as public hunting i have. It would be great to hook up with somebody whose bene there.

Been there duck hunting a couple years ago. I hunt a lease close to the public land. Whenever I have been in or around it there is always animals. Be glad to trade info on spots if someone is going out. Just pm me. Good luck

How crowded does it get out there? Ive been scouting last 2 weekends and have only seen 2 guys scouting for duck season and then heard someone on Monday. THATS it. We will be hunting off Access Point 3 on 124. Anyone else hunt that side??

I can tell you there is a drainage ditch just passed the access road with the gate. You check out the trails and sign going in that area. It all depends on how far you are willing to hike? How was the water in there? Just wondering about doing some duck hunting later in the year.
