Are you being serious. I can not find anywhere that says you can not bow hunt during archery season. If you were escorted out did you get a ticket? What about the archery only sections.........HHHHHMMMMMMMMM

In the Annual it says "all other hunters(other than youth) can hunt by "archery only"... but not sure if I'm reading that right, its on the bottom of page 62 of the Annual.

I have never been told that. I have always hunted during the Youth season. It is still bow season. However this is the only time that a youth hunter can hunt with a rifle while no one else can. So we should still be able to bow hunt. Something sounds fishy.

You can bow hunt during youth weekend as long as it is archery season. In fact, you can hunt any where in the forest during youth weekend.

I dry fired my bow today on accident, thankfully it only busted my slide, 10 bucks to replace @ Bushmasters in Willis. Going on a pig hunt in the morning...

Youth Season

If that is true, I have broken law past 4 years - I have always hunted during youth season without any issues. It only states that youth hunters are the only allowed to use firearms.The posted bow season for SHNF does not stop for that weekend and re-start for the week prior to gun opener, it is listed as the same dates as the general bow season.

2 years ago I had the game warden waiting at my truck, I had been out moving a stand when I came to the gate he asked me if I had killed anything because I was pulling my game cart, I told him that it used it to move a stand, and then he asked me if I had hunted that morning, I told him that I had been bow hunting that morning, then he told me it was youth weekend and only kids could hunt, he asked me to open my truck to make sure that I didnt have a rifle. After looking thru my truck and only finding my bow he said that for being honest with him that he was going to write me a warning ticket and there was no fine involved but he did make me sign it. He then took my public hunting booklet out of my truck and showed me were the dates that the bow season was shut down for those 2 days. Saw the same warden last year and he said the rules were changed to allow hunting on youth weekend, so good luck hunting, still have the warning ticket

Cant make it to the forest till saturday evening. I can how ever go bow fishing tomorrow night for a couple of hours if anyone is interested. The river is Waaaaaaaaaay low. should be good.

I will be bow hunting, as stated in the manual Oct.2 to Nov.5 is archery season. There are no closed dates. Good luck with this front coming in. The deer will be ready for it.
