Tommy - I am in the digital graphics market, and sell this kind of material to digital printers all over the state - if you want a recommendation on a shop, send me a PM and I can hook you up.
Basically, you need a high-res picture, and send it to the printer, who prints it on a special canvas using a large digital solvent printer. Depending on the size of your print file, you can have it blown up as big as your living room wall if you wanted. The more megapixels in the image, the better. Once the print is done, the printer can then stretch it on a frame for you, or you can do it yourself. There are multiple options for protecting the graphic also, so it will last for years without the ink fading and your face turning magenta!

the picture I'm wanting to do this to was taken with my Rebel Xsi 12.1 megapixels. I will have to check with full color and see if I can maybe get the september special early.
