The one you got with your D40 isn't to bad. I use it for all of mine. Have PS but don't use it that much.

I have Lightroom (not 2) and Photoshop CS4 (but I use it a lot of times for other tings that just photo development.)

I recommend Lightroom 2, I tried the demo and it is a great program. Well worth the money and it will give you outstanding results.

I use Paint Shop Pro X2. Does everything I need it to do.

Lightroom 2 is great. Much easier to figure out than Photoshop.

I recently purchased Lightroom 2 and while I am still learning to use it, I love it and it has made a big difference in my photos overall. It is easy to learn as well.

Anybody have a copy I can have? this stuff is expensive. I am using the Capture NX 2 by Nikon for the 60 day trial and it is $270 and the Lightroom 2 is $299.

I grabbed a copy of Google's Picassa 3 (its free) and for us "newbies" its pretty easy to use. I hear good things about Gimp as well but I've not tried it.

I use Lightroom 2 and an old copy of Photoshop. Lightroom kicks butt.

Everything gets more expensive, the more involved you get. Hunting, fishing, golf. Photography is no different. The only things cheap right now are memory cards.
