Sounds like a good photo opp. What time will the balloons go up tomorrow. I could go up Friday only. Would it be worth going Friday only. Thanks.

Don't go much any more. They have a tendency to land in my front yard and actually break limbs out of my trees and land in what is left of my fruit orchard. It is an excellent photo op though especially the balloon glow.

Glad you brought it up though. It reminds me that I need to put my free tickets in my lunch bucket tomorrow and give to a friend at work

Oh they give them and a letter a few days before to try to pad the bad feelings they cause in the community due to the damage they cause.

They are supposed to lift off sometime around 6:30 am in various places around town. I am attending the pilots briefing so I can tag along with a couple of teams and get some shots of them setting up and lifting off.

Sorry to hear about the damage, Darren. I guess that would leave a bad taste in my mouth as well.

Debbie, It is usually a very good weekend for photography. Friday and Saturday night, there is a balloon glow at dark. They inflate most of the balloons and stay on the ground and when they light the burners the balloons glow. It is really cool.

I think ya sold me!!!!! Will spend the afternoon tomorrow with Ralph and Vicki and then head over that way. Been a few years since I was in that part of TX. Will be good to see it again.

It's ok and kind of humorous to watch but the balloons cause livestock to absolutely freak-out - especially horses. I have video of some of them crashing through the trees and loading up about 100 feet from my front door. Scared the dog so bad that it disappeared for 2 days. When she came home she was soaking wet with pond moss on her. I guess she ran and stood in a pond for 2 days. I guess animals think they are aliens or something. LOL!
Ya'll enjoy the event. It is a good thing for Longview and maybe the wind will be out of the southeast this year. Take plenty of photos and post them and I will go vicariously.
