Brings back memories. I backpacked to the South Rim a total of 14 times in my younger days. Photographers dream. A target rich environment. Would love to do it again but 71 year old knees and hips dictate a step back. Many a cigar smoked while sitting on that rim looking 150 miles into Mexico.

This one was cool because it looks like it is sunrise lighting up the mountains, but it's actually the light of the setting moon that is casting all of the light on the horizon.

how long were you out there?

We did a 4 day 3 night trip. Truck camped the first night down some 4x4 only trails, then we backpacked to the Northeast Rim and stayed at a couple of primitive campsites.
