That is neat to see and interesting because I was always told that quail get their water from the moisture content in the food they eat and not directly from a water source itself. I guess this photo negates that information!

Most quail professionals will tell you that quail do not need surface water. However, they will definitely use it if it is available. Of course they use it to drink, but they also are attracted to water sources due to higher numbers of insects, as well as seeds.
