These are decent training videos for the 70D.

Good camera. Enjoy it. Learn all you can about exposure control, F stops and shutter speeds and how they effect the picture. Most community colleges have some adult learning photo classes, look into one, they can show you a lot.
      Have fun.

I've had both, started with Nikon film, ended up with Canon digital. The camera isn't as important as you think for taking photos. I switched because of customer support.

Learn the camera you have. Take a course. Read a lot. And try to figure out how they took those great shots.

One thing about digital - it allows you to shoot lots without a huge cost factor. Of course, you need a good computer and software. And join a photo club to get your photos critiqued.

I have the camera at the ranch this weekend. Will post pictures when I get home tomorrow. Is there a way to make the shutter quiet?

I would like to recommend Niokn.I bought a Nikon d810, it's the successor to both the D800 and D800E cameras. It give excellent images and quality videos. If you are looking for a camera with the latest technology and will last you and long time then you would look at the D810
