    4th of July Fireworks

We had a great and relaxing day today. Bought a new grill and set of lawn furniture, and we grilled some backstrap, chicken, and veggies with corn on the cob. Had an awesome supper. Then we went out to the local fireworks show and got a few pics. Sorry, no pics of the meal. Too busy cooking and eating.

Here are some of the fireworks pics. We set up across the road from the park where they were firing them off. As a result, I got some cars going by in my frames. Note the streaked lights at the bottom of the frames. But, you'll be glad to know that I didn't end up in the bid traffic jam after the show ended. We got right back on the road and headed to the house.

    The palm tree.....

    The flower...

This one blew up a little lower than they planned...

The big finale'. I had to switch to a shorter shutter speed here, as 8-10 seconds full of the flurry was just a big blown out explosion.

If you got any fireworks pics, let's see 'em.......

          Really nice shots guys. Thanks.

I thought about heading over to the Bush Library last night to get some shots but after discovering a feature on my camera (another thread) I opted to stay home.

Yep, same ones. That guy was on the opposite side of the fireworks from me though. The south breeze is blowing the sparks to the left in his shots and to the right in mine.

We must have been SHOOTING AT EACH OTHER!! Canon VS. Oly!!

Kevin, those are some nice shots. Love the reflection in the water. I like the spectators too. Cool!

First time I shot fireworks. I learned a couple of things. One, I will use my polarizing filter next year. Why? I believe it will tone down the halo effects of the bright colors. Second thing I learned - fireworks are really bright and I needed to set my camera back to standard. The vibrancy, saturation and contrast were set too high. And, do not trust Wolf Camera. The ML-L3 remote does not work with the D300. Works great with the D80. Glad I have both bodies.

We found a nice spot to take in the local fireworks. Michael got some great shots as did Steven and I have a couple I like that came out of my 20D.

We'll probably add a lot of pics from our party here today. Good times, great food, great people.

                              Great attempts of "developing" Don

Do you have the originals on flicker? That second one is cool
