When I was a kid My dad move from Houston into a deer cabin in Centerville. All we had was a hand drawn well and an outhouse for about 8 mounths while he built our house. It may look cool now but it cold as heck in the winter and I don't think I need to explain the smell in the summer.

My great uncle had the exact same set up on his old family farm. He used the out house and the well until he passed away in the mid 90's. I know exactly what your saying.
