    Point and shoot camera

While I'm looking for a good DSLR, my wife wants a new point and shoot. Any suggestions? I'm currently looking at the Sony HX50v and the Nikon S9500.

I like the Cannon ELPH series. they are simple but you can do a lot with it. I know cannon is not known as"Pro" glass but every one I know that has the elf like them for what they are.

I love my Panasonic Lumix. Water and drop resistant with a Leica lens. Takes great pictures, fits in a pocket and goes anywhere. 3 years of use and travel around the world and its going strong, but when it eventually breaks, it will be replaced with the exact same thing. new version here:

Cannon SX50 HS. I am picking up my new one today after work. I had one and had insurance on it and was silly enough to put it on top of my wife's SUV and it fell of while I was doing 50 mph. I took it back to best buy and told them I dropped it while taking pics and the trashed it with my insurance and I am picking up my new one. Really good zoom, small, good options, and has 10 shot bursts. Good if you have kids.

Ordered the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 today. Will be taking it to London next week to try it out.
