Since this is the new section for all things photog related, I am assuming we can toss in the occasional cry for help when we want to make a purchase on new equipment .


I am looking at getting one of the new Nikkor 55-200 AF VR lenses for my D50, and want to know if i should skip the VR and get the regular lens or is the VR really worth having?

Canon calls theirs IS for "image stabilization." I have a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L with image stabilization. IS (or VR as the case may be), is a beautiful thing. Adds some weight and cost, but worth it in my estimation.
