      Re: what camera?

Wide open question..do you have any friends that are into photography? If so buy the brand they shoot so you can learn from them and possibly share lenses. I use a nikon D7000 myself and it works great..I went with nikon because lenses seemed better overall thaen canon...I would choose one of these over say Sony or minolta

I bought a secondhand cannon XS digital rebel with 2 lenses/bag/battery grip. I don't know anything about using it yet other than auto---but I'm going to learn. I picked it up for about $225 off ebay. Not a bad price for a starter camera for digital photography. Now I just gotta learn how to use all those settings.

I started with a Canon XTi just like the one that I currently have for sale. I took lots of great pictures with it. If you don't spend a large amount of your budget on a camera body, it leaves you more money to spend on lenses. There is a bigger difference in image quality between cheap and top-of-the-line lenses than there is in camera bodies from a few years ago and today.
