i am new to the photography world and i think it is pretty cool. what kind of camera do you recommend? im thinking Cannon, digital preferably. and what prices am i looking at? thanks for any advice to all the TBH photographers

Wide open question..do you have any friends that are into photography? If so buy the brand they shoot so you can learn from them and possibly share lenses. I use a nikon D7000 myself and it works great..I went with nikon because lenses seemed better overall thaen canon...I would choose one of these over say Sony or minolta

I bought a secondhand cannon XS digital rebel with 2 lenses/bag/battery grip. I don't know anything about using it yet other than auto---but I'm going to learn. I picked it up for about $225 off ebay. Not a bad price for a starter camera for digital photography. Now I just gotta learn how to use all those settings.

I started with a Canon XTi just like the one that I currently have for sale. I took lots of great pictures with it. If you don't spend a large amount of your budget on a camera body, it leaves you more money to spend on lenses. There is a bigger difference in image quality between cheap and top-of-the-line lenses than there is in camera bodies from a few years ago and today.
