    A view from the "shack"

I took these last Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning from the shack. I ended up taking about 160 pictures so these are just a few. It was nice being able to fire away without the deer hearing the shutter.
I used a Canon 300mm 2.8 lens and had to wait for the deer to get far enough away from me to get some of the shots.

cool pics. We just bought a D5100 with a 300 mm lense. I plan on taking out and getting some pics after I figure out how to use it.

Most of these shots were withing 50 yards. Some of them were as close as 10 yards. there were some close shots where the deer would look at me like they thought they heard something but were just not sure but the does at the feeder and all of the bucks being there at the same time kept them distracted. All of these shots were taken through glass and that helped to dampen the sound as well as the blind construction.

Anywhere from 10 yards to 35-40 yards. It was nice being able to shoot pics through clean glass where I wasn't exposed to the deer. I shave shot pics of deer at 120 yards out of a fiberglss blind with the window open and stopped them dead in their tracks when they heard the shutter. You could get off a couple of pics and the deer were gone. I shot about 160 pictures and never spooked a single deer. It was awesome!
