    Advice Needed

I hunt this bayou and it's a beautiful area. I know that I do not do it justice by capturing it with my digital SLR in auto mode. Any suggestions how I would best capture this in manual mode? Thanks

Polarizing lens, play with the white balance. Just my 2 cents.

Marty, shoot early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The first and last hour of the day are golden. When the sun is high in the sky, you get flat photos and harsh shadows. Use a tripod and set the camera mode to aperture priority. Set your aperture to f16 or smaller. Place your cameras' focus point somewhere in the middle of the scene. Your shutter speed will be slow, but the everything will be in sharp focus, unless the wind is blowing or the water is running.

I shot this fairly late in the day with my iPhone resting on my trucks hood. It was still too early in the afternoon for the best result, but you can see how the colors are more intense.
